Despite the fact that you're not really suppoed to, one
day you might decide to move your cable modem or cable television receiver
to another room in your house and I'm sure you don't want to give NTL
any more of your money in order to carry out such a trivial task. Am I
wrong?!?!
For this very reason, here are a number of quick facts
to get you through the process with the best of ease. Somne facts are
very random indeed! - perhaps even a little pointless.
cable
 |
Satellite cable is
very hig qualit as it has to carry signals in the 1 - 2GHz band whereas
NTL cable is provided from 80 - 800 or so MHz. TV
grade coax (75-ohm) is up to the job for short lengths, but for longer,
it is best to
get the double screened type. Try, Low Loss Satellite Cable FT125
(Product code is XS46A) from www.maplin.co.uk. |
f-connectors
 |
The wall
box supplied by NTL, the cable modem and the set top box all have
F-Connectors on them This makes things really simple to do. |

platforms
|
The langley plaform is
often called the "original area platform" the channel numbers
start at 101 and the remote is blue. The ex-cwc or bromley platform
currently has a black remote and the channel numbers start at 1. |
